Our Earth has been complaining quite frequently since weeks ago.  She is sick now.  She sneezed and caused Myanmar (Burma) to suffer from the tropical cyclone on 3rd May 2008.  She felt uncomfortable and shake her body a bit which caused the earthquake happened in China on 12th May 2008 (yesterday). 

I always imagine that we are similar to the ants around the food.  We are the ants; searching and developing the resources on the Earth, such as commercial area, gold mines etc which are our food.  We are similar to ant, taking our risk living on a risky area.  We have no choice.  The mother Earth is our base.  In fact, we are only staying less than a quarter of Her surface (where the land is).  We are not sure when / (or even the worst) what will happen to our base, just like the ants, they do not know what will happen next seconds while they are crawling over the food.

Now it is still within the golden 72 hours for the rescue crew to reduce the number of death toll for China earthquake.  After the golden hours, there will be a new threat for those who are still missing; they may lose their life due to starving.  (I believe some of you may be thinking of what you going to eat later while reading this line).  I’m here giving full mental support to the rescue crew.

Besides donation and mental support, what else can we do?  We can pray.  (You pray to your god and I pray to my god, our god may be the same or different).  We can sit quietly and think what the reasons are behind.  Different religions give different answers.  Some of them said that it is the “Act of God” and some said that it is the negative Karma (cause and effect) which generated by living thing’s greed, hate, and delusion.  Geologist may explain that how the inner part of the Earth has been moving and the energy has been accumulated until the disaster happen, astrologist / fortune teller said that it is our luck that has changed.  Environmentalism supporter may say that we have cut down too many trees, produced too many rubbish and caused too much pollution etc.  You have your answers and I have my answers as well.  The answers are meaningless unless we can try the solution that we can think of to prevent it from happening again or reduce the destruction in the future.

Anyway, we can “do something” that help to change the environment.  We still have the abilities to decide our future.  The only condition is “Everybody” must do something to help.  If you don’t know what to do, just pray.  Let’s pray for no more nature disaster.

Finally, we would like to send our warmest condolence to those who have their beloved family members / relatives / friends torn apart permanently.  Our heart should go on.
