- The main entrance of Sam Poh Tong.
Yes, we visited Sam Poh Tong again. We are attracted by its landscaping features in its garden especially the big beautiful pond. Part of the garden is in the middle of the pond. The artistic stones in different natural shapes stand proudly in the middle of the pond giving places to stand for the fresh-looking-green-mini grass bamboo and other plants. Some of the stones are used as mini building structures where Buddism statues are placed inside the stones. There is a garden lamp in the middle of the pond. I wonder how does it look like in the night. It must be very beautiful.

- Front view of the pond.

- The shape of the stone matches the GuanYin statue perfectly. Look at the left part, it makes the whole stone become a traditional Chinese tower.

- Let’s get closer (I can’t unless I jump into the pond, but my camera can). As I say just now, the stones are not decorated with normal grass, but with the fresh-looking-green-mini grass bamboo. I have 2 varieties of this bamboo in our garden in Kuching, that’s why I know about this bamboo.

- Most stones are in triangular shape where the lower part is larger than the upper part. They look like mountains in the ocean. And all of them have beautiful plants to acompany and decorate them.

-The view of the pond from another angle.

- This is the largest stones creating a mountain look lanscaping. A mini Sam Poh Tong is inside, can you find it?

- From this angle, we can see the lamp in the pond and the big door of Sam Poh Tong behind it.

- The border of the pond are surrounded by plants as well.

- We saw three tortoises lined up together sharing a small piece of their land on a stones. Didn’t they feel hot and get sunburn later? SiewPeng discovered that she got a minor sunburn after we went home.
There are more tortoises in the secret garden of Sam Poh Tong which I will post later.
The beautiful pond has only few tortoises in it as we observed. Where are the others? Are they hiding themself because it was a hot noon around 12pm when we visit the garden. Although the weather was hot, we keep on walking, taking photographs and enjoying the scenery.

- There are also Koi and other fish in the pond. I hope that they live happily with each other in a muti species and multi-colour nation of a pond :p.

It is a good place to have a photo session around the pond in Sam Poh Tong. I have taken a few potraids of SiewPeng around there where we will keep it for ourselves only. However, we will select a few photos of us and show you in the coming posts. I found another feature that make me love our new baby camera so much. It LCD is flipable, that’s why it allows us to take photo of ourselves easier. Is this what they call camwhoring? :P
The garden is really amazing. I can’t imagine how much effort and hard work had the gardener put into the designs, creation and most importantly the maintainance of the lanscaping featuers. I wonder how they do the maintainance on the stones in the pond, do they step into the pond or using a boat?

Yes, when I first wrote this post, I was thinking of either call it a lake or a pond. I haven’t finished posting the photos in the garden of Sam Poh Tong which I will post it in the part 2 later. Should I call it a garden or a park?
