Back to School - Part 2 - Events 01

On 20 June - “Back to School Day” of Kuching High School, there were a series of events from 8am to 4pm, we were there at about 2pm.  One of the main activities there was stage performance which included singing of the famous singers etc.

The main purpose of this event is to raise fund for constructing new school building.  If I have not mistaken I heard that they had delay the Earth Breaking Ceremony (Dong4Tu3Li3) due to some reasons.  The MCs and singers keep on persuading visitors and school leavers to donate money to rebuild the school.  I believe their effort is not wasted, they have done a good job.

A lot of people were watching the famous singer singing.

Suddenly something happened, the singer moved towards the crowd.  I couldn’t see from far away, maybe he shook hand with his fans.  And the crowds were excited especially girls.  Sorry as we know none of the singers.  We are a bit outdated in the entertainment world. :p

There was a LCD Display to live broadcast the stage show at somewhere near the canteen.

There were games.  Try to throw the ring onto the duck’s neck and you’ll win.

They charge a Ringgit or two for the pony ride, but we did not try.  The pony looked small and poor because it had to support heavy humans.  We even saw there were 2 people riding it at the same time, how poor was it.  If they use the money collected from pony ride for raising the fund, we should thank the little poor pony for what it had done.

The scouts had built a 3 stories tower.  I believe they had have fun with it.

It was almost time to end the “Back to School Day”.  We saw them start removing things from the exhibition.

There were other activities like exhibition of each society and club, selling of food and drinks and others.  The students even turned one of the classrooms into a barber shop.  I have the pictures of my secondary school which help me to recall a lot of memories, and I will show you on the coming post.  Stay tuned.
