This is the 8th Sarawak Inter-Cultural Mooncake Festival held in Capenter Street in Kuching, Malaysia. There were many stalls selling cultural food and items. There are street performances from Chinese, Dayak, and Malay too.

Look at the Chinese words on the decorative archway, it is written “Ya3Da2Jie1“. This is the Chinese name for Carpenter Street. The stage is built right in front of it, where we saw some performances there.

Looking at the Carpenter Street decorative archway from a different angle.

It was crowded along the street.

We took photo of ourselves again.

Different angle. The post office building is on the top right corner of the picture above.

A lot of stalls.

Foods and drinks, and many other things.

Cotton candy for sale. We have seen the making process of cotton candy as well.

Many of the stalls have hung up lanterns to decorate their stalls, there are also stalls selling lanterns.
Beautiful and colourful.

Since this is an inter-cultural event, an Orang Ulu who plays sape has joined the event too. He played non-stop, with a small donation basket in front of him. He smiled a little bit all the time, and nodded a bit to us when we gave some donation.

He was sitting in one of the junction of the Carpenter Street. Look at the far end, it is the light from the DUN building.

We want to take photo with the sape player, but he look small in the photo.

These Malay ladies were selling their Halal version of the mooncake. Great. Salam 1Malaysia.

Malay groom and bride with music band.

Malay’s traditional musical instruments.

The Malay guys were dancing. They seemed to enjoy the melody very much and asked people passing by to join them.

There are also haircut service on the street. If I’m not mistaken they do it for charity.

This yellow stall was giving balloon to kids, we can see yellow balloons everywhere.

It was not so crowded near the exit of Carpenter Street. And we can take our time to take our photos there.

There was traffic jam around that area. Can you identified where is the Kuching Post Office, Round Tower, Pavillion Building and the old Court House. They are historical building.
I believe most people enjoy celebrating this festival. :D It is a great event to attract tourists. And I believe that more creative things will be added to it from time to time.
The mooncake says bye to you and see you again next year.
