We have bought a small bag of skinless peanuts from a hypermarket. Last Sunday evening, I asked my parents how to fried peanuts. My mother said she have got a secret recipe from my grandmother, my father also said the same thing. First, dip the peanuts in salt water for an hour or two. And then … …
I did what my parents said and while waiting, I played a computer game - StarCraft with my brother. After we had won the game (2-human Protoss teams vs 6-computer Terran teams) by firing for about an hour plus, the peanut was ready to be served. I mean it was ready to be eaten.
Do not get confused. You cannot eat the raw peanut by only soaking it in salt water. Can you guess what had happened?
SiewPeng and my sister-in-law (my brother’s wife) fried it while I was playing computer games. The first part - “dipping peanut in salt water” was according to my grandmother’s recipe, but the second part is using their way of frying the peanuts.
My sister-in-law said the peanuts should not be dipped in water, so they dried the peanuts by letting the peanuts being baked in a hot pan without oil until all the water has been removed. Then they fried the peanuts with oil using their way. I wanted to stopped them, but I was attacked by 3 teams of Terrans in Starcraft. After my brother and I eliminated all the computer teams (all Terrans), it was too late because the raw peanuts had already been fried.
Luckily the outcome was still considered good. SiewPeng said she did not wait for me because she did not want the noise, smell and the oil etc. came into the night. It was 9pm, for me the night was still young.
At 10pm, I watched tv, read newspaper and ate some of the peanuts at the same time with drink, how enjoyable at the good timing.
SiewPeng took away the peanut and warned me not to overeat my favorite peanut.
This is the whole process how the peanut was fried. Later it became my object to be photographed.

From my light box, using backlighting. The peanuts got alive and showed their eyes.

This was how my light box looked like when I took the bottled peanuts.

I believe SiewPeng and Ms. M has applied some extra salt to the peanuts because I saw a spoon with salt.

The peanuts are quite shiny and oily. Can you see some salt sticked on it?
Eating peanut with ice cold Coca-cola is one of my most enjoyable things in my life. Yummy!!!
