I did not note down the name of this owl, but its face resembles the shape of heart (love).

This is the owl at the photo booth.

It shook its head saying,”I don’t want to take photos now, I am tired! :p ”
Although some owls look scary, but some of them are very cute actually.
Recently there is a short funny animation shown on TV, with the title of “The Owl“. Each episode is less than 5 minutes long which was broadcasted in between of the commercial break after the news at 8 or 9pm on the “Feel Good” channel. The owl in the animation always has bad luck and is always bullied by the worm, pin ball, UFO, torch light, etc. Each time, the owl ended with extremely ’severe’ injuries as in broken into pieces.
SiewPeng and I have never seen a real owl until we have visited the KL Bird Park.

This is Buffy Fish-Owl. It was looking to its left.
Under the low light condition and the owl was moving, I have no choice to use a higher ISO setting of my camera. The next problem is the focusing. Using the auto focus mode, most of the time, I got the cage clear but the bird image blur in the photos. No choice, manual focus needed to be used although it is slower.

Owls have biggest eyes that look like cats among all types of birds, am I right? Its head look like a cat’s head. In mandarin, owl is called “MaoTou Ying” where “MaoTou” means the head of cat, “Ying” means hawk. As you may know, Chinese always name objects and invent words according to the objects shapes.

The owl had one of its eyes closed. There are 2 layers of eye lids, one is the internal white eye lid, the other one is the actual external eye lid with fur.

It closed its eyes.

This is a Spotted Wood Owl.
Next, I will show you the water birds in the coming post.
