These are the colourful lovebirds that welcomed us when we first entered the first aviary in the bird park (zone 2) which is called Love Aviary.

Why are they called lovebirds?
The answer I got from the signboard is:-
“Lovebirds comprises of a very diverse and colourful group of parrots originated from Africa. When kept in pairs, they will constantly groom each other and sit as close together as possible when sleeping or resting.”

A green lovebird was eating chili. Wow… It’s hot.

Look, there are two pairs of lovebirds.

Their food was on the branches of trees, with corns, seeds and fruit. The lovebirds were flying around and stopped on the branches sometimes to enjoy their food.

From the signboard there are different types of lovebirds, such as Peach-faced lovebird, Blue Masked lovebird, Fischer’s lovebird and Lutino Peach-faced lovebird. Most of them are rainbow coloured. I saw many types of lovebirds there, but when I look at the photos that I have taken, I only have two types of lovebirds.

Another pair of big lovebirds - SiewPeng and Colin.

we walked and walked, and we reached another zone (zone 4). We saw the World of Parrots.

Lory that was always hungry.

These lories were waiting to be fed by visitors. You can fold the birds’ food (seeds) on your opened hands, and a group of the colourful lories will stop on your hand and enjoy the food.

This is the most colourful parrot eating its food. It looked sick but was not actually.

Blue and Gold Macaw.

“I am a white parrot. Am I colourful? I will be colourful if I have swum in the rainbow paint.” said the white parrot.

We kept on walking and we were at Oriental Bird Aviary (zone 4), which is just next to the World of Parrots.

We have forgotten the name of this bird, but it has fluorescent blue colored feathers. :)

A black bird with red chest. SiewPeng said it looks like the evil witch in cartoons.
