Paku Fern in Our Garden 01

This type of fern is called Paku in local languages.  It has grown naturally and wildly in our garden, and its population has increased because it likes to hide between the fence where it is difficult to be removed.

The ferns can appear in many types and shapes, some of them are edible.  I have collected 3 types in our garden.  The type of fern that I show you here is the strongest and widely spread paku fern among the 3 types of paku ferns in our garden.

I am not sure if this type of paku fern is edible, but I have the other 2 types which look nicer where many people use them for flower arrangements.

These ferns do not have seeds, but they are helped by the wind to propagate.  When the leaves are getting matured, the circles appear underneath the leaves.  When the leaves are getting older, the circles turn dark and produce a lot of powder-like spores.

Although they look soft, but they are strong.
