I adjusted the hue of these photos to make them more attractive.  Purple is my favorite colour.

Pink is SiewPeng’s favorite colour.  The most eye-catching object in the photos above is the “Y” shaped wood.

Green means nature.  While the train was moving fast, the grass or wood in the photos above could not stay still.

Purple again.

Golden brown clouds with a communication tower.

Last, I did not forget to try one in gray-scale.

Use a magnifying glass and look at your monitor, you will be able to see the pixels (dots).  It has close relationship with the “resolution”.

The following are from what I have understood, ignore the following if you do not like its technical part.

If a picture of size 10px X 10px is displayed on the screen at 100% (no zooming), it is supposed to take 10 X 10 pixels on the display.  I do not believe that every screen is always 72dpi (dot per inch).

For printed pixel, if it is 300dpi, it means that there are 300 dots on an inch, the size of the pixels must be the same or smaller than 1/300 inch.

On the same monitor, if we increase the screen resolution, the pixel size will become smaller so that the monitor can display more dots.

On different monitors but with the same resolution, the larger screen has larger pixel size.

I can tell you the pixel size on a monitor or printed material, but I cannot tell you the pixel size of an image file without the output, because it depends on how big is the output.

Some picture files has the dpi properties, but it is only a relative reference so that it can tell the user how big it is in cm or inch.  The pixel sizes might be different if the output has different dpi.  Therefore I always use pixel rather than inch or cm when handling images.

Pixel can be as big as a human being.  It happens when a large group of people wearing different colour of clothing lines up together, words or patterns can be seen from far away.  It can usually be seen during an opening ceremony (such as the Olympic Games) or other important celebrations.

I mentioned this months ago, and now I have got its pictures.

I was provided with this laptop to do my work.  The “Fn” and “Ctrl” keys are located at the wrong position for me.  Since it is non-standard to the keyboard I usually use, I still always press the wrong key.  Or after I have got used to this keyboard, I press the wrong button on most of other keyboards which have the “Ctrl” button at the corner.

When I am looking for a laptop / notebook, besides the performance and functionality, the first thing I look into its design will be the keyboard layout.

I have been working long hours with this laptop, sometimes when it runs on high processor utilization mode ( eg.  antivirus running, copying files, processing picture files etc.), the hot air will come out from the vent hole.

It is blowing directly to my wrist and forearm.  I have to cover it with something to redirect the hot air.

If you use your laptop occasionally,  you won’t feel it.  But I am working with it for long hours and almost every day.

Another design layout if I were to buy a new laptop would be the USB ports position.  Some laptop really have illogical position of USB port where it blocks the Optical Drive (eg. DVD-RW), and disturbs my mouse movement.

Basically, I do not want anything on the right side, where I want my mouse to move freely.

We went to AQWA.  The most artistic thing that attracted me the most was this cylinder-shape aquarium in blue, and the jellyfish in orange inside.  Orange and blue combination is one of the contrast colours.  The cylinder makes me feel that I was a character in a science fiction.

They looked different compared to the one in nature and under the beautifully decorated aquarium and lighting.

This was taken a day before supermoon on the 18th March 2011.  The weather is not good recently, and I observe the moon daily and take her photos by any chance that I have got.

Actually there was a thin layer of cloud in the sky, but this is the best photo I took for the supermoon.

I have to clear some doubts in my mind.  Sometimes, the moon looks big but it is not the supermoon but it is because the moon is nearer to the horizon, and there is a distortion by the atmosphere.  This time, the moon is really close to the Earth.  I took its photo when it was about 60 degree from the horizon.

With naked eyes, the moon that actually looks larger might be insignificant.  Therefore, I have to use graphic software on the computer to prove that it is bigger.  I added some guidelines and calculate the diameter of the moon in pixels, and I got the difference.

There are 2 conditions that need to be fulfilled:-

1.  Take the photo when the moon is not at the horizon (Same angle is the best, eg. 90 degrees above the head).

2.   Use the same lense and camera.  I always zoom to the max with my ultra zoom camera.

I am not saying that the measurement I have got is 100 % accurate, because there are other factors such as the cloudy weather, and locations which the photo is taken are different.  But at least I know that the moon is bigger in my photos.

I believe that it is a coincident if the supermoon has caused natural disaster, there are many other factors such as environmental issues caused by human beings, and the Earth itself.  Our Earth is sick now, please save our Earth.  I don’t think anyone would want to migrate to the moon where we have to wear a space suit and carry an oxygen tank with us all the time.
